Number One - Most Affordable Tented Camp in the Sabi Sand

This uniquely designed bush lodge can accommodate up to 30 guests in 11 luxury tents. Elevated on wooden decks, each suite has it’s own private balcony and is fully equipped for a comfortable bushveld glamping retreat. Built around a weeping boer-bean, the main lodge overlooks a variety of habitats - a winding drainage line leading to the seasonal Sand River, a forested thicket and a section of open savanna. Guests can wildlife watch, relax and take in the wilderness surrounds in between activities and meals.

Number Two - Option to visit the Kruger National Park as well

In addition to game drives in the Sabie Game Reserve, we also have 3 and 4 nights Packages that include a Full Day Safari into the Kruger National Park. Access is via the Paul Kruger Gate. Sharing their wealth of knowledge with you, your guide can teach you all about life in the wild, everything from the intricate life cycles of dung beetles, to an array of fascinating big-five facts. Trackers skilfully read the signs in nature and work with the guide to locate a variety of life, from prowling big cats to boisterous buffalo herds.  Experience an authentic South African safari and take time to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of modern living. Number 3 - Leopard, more leopards and some leopards again!

For a small safari lodge, we pack a big punch! We are blessed to have regular sightings of leopards, and because our traverse is private we get to spend a lot more time with the special sightings that some of our significantly more expensive neighbours! There are 2 daily game drives included in a safari stay at Umkumbe Bush Lodge. The morning safari will stop for a scenic coffee pit stop and on afternoon drive, guests can enjoy a classic safari sundowner and snacks. Please note that we are unfenced to the Kruger National Park and form part of the Greater Kruger area - a huge wildlife area of over close to 2 million hectares. As such sightings are not guaranteed - this is not a zoo after all!
