Each tent bears the name of an indigenous tree, inviting comparison to nests where one can safely immerse in nature. Appropriately, our stylish and spacious tents are perched on private platforms and enveloped in the thicket. Luxury, Superior and Honeymoon Suites boast bathtubs, couple’s sinks and outdoor showers. Here, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of a drainage line where wildlife frequently traverses.

Our Standard Tents, positioned on wooden decks, offer a rustic charm perfect for the adventurous traveller. Each tent features a king-size bed convertible into two twin beds and a bathroom equipped with a shower.
Luxury
Tent
Leadwood, our exclusive Luxury Tent, is slightly larger and secluded with a verandah and outside shower. Leadwood features a king-size bed and a sofa couch to accommodate one additional person. The bathroom has a bathtub and a couple’s sink.

Tents
With stylish verandahs and outside showers, these secluded suites exude tranquillity. Each tent includes a convertible king-size bed and sleeper couch that converts into a double bed. The bathroom has a bathtub and a couple’s sink.

Honeymoon Tent
Made for two, our Honeymoon Suite promises an intimate retreat, complete with a secluded plunge pool, outdoor showers, and a spacious deck offering panoramic views. Indoors, the airy dressing area, bedroom (with a plush king-size bed) and bathroom flow into one another creating a harmonious environment.

At Umkumbe Bush Lodge, we rise before dawn to embark on the first game drive of the day, complete with a revitalising coffee and rusk break at sunrise. Late afternoon drives feature a sundowner stop, and after dark, our eagle-eyed trackers apply themselves to track down elusive nocturnal animals.
The tradition of sundowners dates back to colonial times and to this day it is still practised at Umkumbe Bush Lodge. During the late afternoon drive, your guide will make a picturesque stop where you can step into nature, savour a crisp beverage and marvel at the sunset. Don’t miss this golden (hour) opportunity to capture the moment on camera.
Connect with your primal instincts while embarking on an adrenaline-pumping walk through nature. While navigating through the landscape, your expertly trained guide will point out intricacies giving you a new perspective of this vibrant ecosystem. Guided Bush Walks are not included in your rate and must be booked in advance.
